MFT Guest Design Contest for November

Here is the card that I made for the theme of bling it on.  I had such fun with this card and am in love with these papers too.  You can check out the Guest Design Team member contest here

I used the following MFT dies on my card:  You can find both of them in the MFT store

My list of stamps and dies that I just have to have this month is growing with each reveal.  Be sure to check them out and wish me luck.

My Favorite Things October Guest Design Team Member Contest Take 2

Well I told you all previously how much I love My Favorite Things, well I had some extra time today and found these adorable baby items which just begged to be put into my cart at Michael's and altered with my MFT goodies.
I love these clear paint cans.  They are a great way to store fun items and a great way to show off the MFT dies.  I don't even have anyone in my life right now who is pregnant, nor expecting a boy.  I will  have to tuck this away in a special spot for a special little baby boy.  It will be fun to see who ends up getting it and how long it takes.
Frame:
This frame came blue with the darker blue dots and I used the Die-namics Well Worn Greetings and cut one of blue cardstock and one of white and overlapped the white on the blue.  I put a Martha Stewart Elephant sticker on the frame that matches the plate.  I also used the Notches Tags Die and Stamp set on the frame and finished it off with a white bow.

Plate and Silverware Set:
I used the Die-namics Mini Pennant and stamped the baby boy sentiment from the Notched Tag Die and Stamp Set.  I tied the silverware together with a bow.  I love elephants and this set is the item that caught my eye in the clearance section at Michael's.  You should check out that aisle often; you never know what treasures you will find.

Hanger:
I painted this little hanger to match the frame.  Martha Stewart has these really cool paints and this were the pearly one's.  I used one of the dies from the Notched Tag Die and Stamp Set and attached the bird to the top of the hanger.  I finished it off with ribbon and some twine.

Block:
I painted my block with the Martha Stewart paint and found it to be a really cute holder for Qtips.
Paint Can:
I decorated the top of the paint can using the Die-namics Simply Scallop die and pieced them together for an elegant top. I cut some flat bottom clouds and put them near the top of my can.  I also put two birdies and a butterfly from the Notched Tag Die and Stamp Set.  I just love the Fly a Kite die and had fun making a kite and a tail.  I finshed it off with some stickers and ribbon and twine on the handle

This was a really fun set to make and it is so fun to sift through all my Dies to see which one's will work on my project.  Wish me luck with my GDT contest entries.  You can join the party at Splitcoast Stampers on Tuesday night 10/4 at 8:00PM EST.

My Favorite Things October Guest Design Team Member Contest

Here is my entry for the MFT GDT contest for October.  I always look each month to see what the exciting challenge is going to be for the MFT contest.  This month it was all about how you package your gift.  I immediately thought of the bake sale that we held today for my daughter's field hockey team.  I knew that I was making cake pops and decided to make a display for the pops using many wonderful MFT dies.
I painted the styrofoam circle purple and then set about planning my decorations. I used the banner die and made a banner across the back and then also used some flower dies as well as a round die and the lovely scalloped oval for the center of the front.  I also used one of the border dies and glued it to the
rolled flower pieces and used that for the center of my gift.
Here are the Die Namics that I used and a link to find each one at MFT:
Sweet Stack Labels
Little Open Scallop Strip
Well Worn Greetings Die and Stamp Set
Perfect Petal Trio
1/4" Rosette
Banner Day Die
I have been a fan of MFT for a long time and love to use some of my gently aged stamps from them as well.  I used the Happy Occasions stamp set as well.
Thanks for looking and you can check out the GDT contest at MFT here. The PARTY starts on October 4th at 8pm EST at Splitcoast Stampers.
As you can see from previous posts I use MFT products on most of my projects be they cards, layouts or altered items.
Hugs,
