8/23/12 Welcome Summer Card Right at Home Scrapbooking

Welcome summer 1

Hi Everyone:
I do wish that I was welcoming summer instead of ushering it out. This stamp set would look so cute on a summer layout. I love the Bella Blvd. Sunshine and Happiness Play Date and Sophisticates Pickle Juice papers that I used on this card. I also am so happy when Lisa gives me Bo Bunny dotted papers to work with. I think that I am in love with the Wasabi Dot and the Tutu Dot are so pretty together. I used the Paper Smooches Summer Groves stamp set on this card as well and really love this set. Lisa has a bunch of different Paper Smooches stamp sets in the store and I would check them out, they are really fun and stamp beautifully. I used the Circle Stax, Chevron Striipes and Fishtail Flags Stax from My Favorite Things on my card. I used Bamboo Leaf Shimmerz spray on my tree after I cut a mask to keep the trunk white.
Welcome summer tree
Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your week.

I also used Bella Blvd. Sophisticates Sprinkles & Lace Pickle Juice paper and Bo Bunny Wasabi Dot. This was such an awesome combination of papers and were so much fun.

The stamp set that Lisa gave me this month to work with is so adorable and inks up so well. It is a versatile set that you can use all year round. It is by Paper Smooches and is called Summer Groves.

I also used a couple of My Favorite Things dies that are well, some of my favorites. I used the Woodgrain Fence, the Fresh Cut Grass and the Circle Stax. Lisa can always order these if they are out of stock in the store.

I used Shimmerz Bamboo Leaf on my project as well.

And last but not least I used Tim Holtz's Distress Markers on my card for coloring the trees as well as his Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I used so many wonderful products from the store and included photos of everything so that you can locate everything you might want to buy to create a card like mine.
Directions:
1. Take a piece of white tissue paper and spray with Shimmerz and let dry.
2. Stamp the two larger trees and cut out. Stamp the middle size tree top again on the double dot side of the Wasabi paper and cut out. Pop up the top of the tree to give it dimension. Color the trunks with several colors of brown from the Distress Markers.
3. Cut a 1 3/4" circle from the Bella Blvd Pickle Juice paper and a 2" one from the Play Date Bella Vlvd Paper.
4. Cut a 2 3/4 X 3 1/2 Rectangle out of the Bella Blvd Popsicle Kisses. I also used a strip of this to stamp the sentiment on and notche the right edge.
5. Rip off small pieces of the tissue paper and glue to the bigger tree. Set aside to dry.
6. Ink the fence with the Tim Holtz Ink and weave grass through fence.
7. Attach pearls to tree and assemble card.
I hope that you have a chance to play with some of these wonderful products that Lisa has in the store.

August Basic Grey Page Kit of the Month Club Featuring the Clippings Collection Preview

Hi Everyone:
Anita here with a preview of the August Basic Grey Page Kit of the Month Club featuring the Clippings Collection. This is one amazing kit filled with so many wonderful papers and goodies. I have shown you a sampling of the papers below as well as the two page layout that we will be making in class. These kits are so chock full that they extend way beyond the two page layout that is the central part of the kit. There is always an extra project with directions included each month and I created some additional projects which I will be back to share in a few days.

Here are some close up shots of each page. This is really going to be a fun one to make in class and you could do so many different things with your layout. I chose to scrap my daughters graduation photos and love how they look with this layout and these awesome papers.

This sticker sheet is so much fun and matches the cardstock with the larger alphas that I shared below.

Tea for Two, Two for Tea

Hi Everyone:
Happy Saturday. I wanted to make something really fun with the gorgeous Bella Blvd. Sunshine & Happiness papers that Lisa gave me to play with this month. I found the Tea For You and Me as an SVG kit. Thanks so much to Kathy for helping me figure out the paper placement. These papers really lend themselves well to a gorgeous summer teapot. It is open in the inside and could be filled with tea bags and would make a lovely gift for your favorite tea lover. It was fun to use some props in my photo as I never, ever use my coffee/tea cups from my china set.

With a little bit of patience and a lot of Zip Dry glue, you are going to want to get a new full bottle from Lisa, you can make this gorgeous tea pot also.

Trendy Twine Just Another Day at the Beach Challenge

Our design team challenge this month was to create something with our lovely Kraft twine with a beach theme and we needed to include Washi tape.  I found these containers in the discount section at Target and they just seemed to say beach to me.  I used my Kraft twine and Posy twine to create a shell and a starfish.  I took a piece of wire and covered it with Washi tape and wove it through the holes in the container and then wrapped it around a pencil to give a curly look.  I think these would be perfect for an after beach party.  Be sure to check out the store to see all the beautiful  colors of Trendy Twine that Lesley has.  The blog is also a really awesome place to see what my fellow designers and guest designers have been doing with their Trendy Twine.

I Scream, You Scream, we all Scream for Ice Cream

Where is this summer going? I can't believe that it is August first and my baby is going to college in 15 days. I had a lot of fun making this ice cream cone for my project. The Kraft Trendy Twine can be used for so many things given it's neutral color. I absolutely love the mix of colors in these twines and can't wait to get my new colors. You have been to the store to place your pre-order, right? What are you waiting for, they are gorgeous.

You can find the Kraft Twine here.
You can find the Strawberry Cupcake Twine here.

Be sure to visit the blog often to see what my fellow DT and Guest DT members are up to.
