Hello There Cardabilities Sketch #80

Happy Tuesday Everyone:
I am back today with my interpretation of Cardabilities Sketch #80. Be sure to check out the challenge to have the chance to be a featured designer.  I fell in love with this paper line by Carta Bella and that flair from Amy Tangerine was so fun.  I am in love with The Twinery's solid twine, can't seem to get enough.  We have a wonderful sponsor this week called Scraptown Lady and her Design Team will be joining in on the sketch with us.  You can check their interpretations of the sketch at Scraptown Lady.  We have a giveaway this week as well, be sure to play along with the Rafflecopter link below.  Here is a link to her Face Book page as well.

This is a card that I made for a very dear aunt of mine whom I am going to get to see soon.  She always restores my soul and I can't wait to see her.  These Teresa Collins papers from the Memories line have been so much fun to work with. I hope that you will click on the product links below to take you to The Hens' Den store to get some of these goodies before they are gone.
I am submitting this for the Fusion Challenge Hypothesis #14 challenge as well and I used both inspirations on my card.

House of Cards Classic and Elegant Color Challenge

Welcome, welcome to all of you amazing card makers out there!  We are SO excited to welcome you to our very first ever moth of challenges here at House of Cards!  This challenge idea was the brain child of co-owner Mynnette--she wanted to have a reason to practice different card making styles and so the purpose of this challenge is to encourage YOU to branch out and try different card making styles along with her and the fabulous DT we've got here!  We hope that you will learn a lot and that you will participate with us each week here and practice your card making talents.  :)

Here is how our challenge blog works--we will have a monthly color palette or sketch and then each week we'd like to see a different card making style using those parameters.  If there is a 5th Monday in the month, we will have a photo inspiration and you can create using any card making style you'd like!  We'll also have a super fun photo inspiration challenge/blog hop that will happen at the beginning of December.  If at that point you feel so inclined, we'd love to have you enter our DT call that will be running at the same time!

Now, onto our actual challenge!  This month we will be working with a fun and fresh color palette.  Please choose at least 3 of these colors to create with!

Here is the card that I made as part of the House of Cards Classic and Elegant Design Team.  These ladies and gentleman are seriously talented.  You simply have to play along.  What better way to try different card making styles and step out of your comfort zone.  You can play along here and have the chance to be a winner or be among the top five who participate.  Always fun to get some recognition.

The Hens' Den Let's Celebrate Freedom Blog Hop

Let's Celebrate Freedom
Blog Hop
July 1st through July 6th 2013

Here are my project using BoBunny Anthem.  I decided for my tutorial to make pinwheels.  This is such an easy and fun thing to do and perfect for this time of year. The directions are below:
1.  Cut your paper into a square, any size as long as it is square.  I used 3" squares.
2.  Draw a dot in the middle of your squares on the side that will be the inside of your pinwheel.
3.  Draw intersecting lines from each corner with a pencil.
4.  Cut about half way up on each of the four lines heading to the center of the pinwheel.
5.  Brads can be really hard to get through the holes if you punch them in each point of the pinwheel so I tend to use glue dots.  It makes for a less flattened pinwheel.
6.  Fold in alternating corners, be gentle so that your pinwheel does not flatten. Adhere each point down to the center with a glue dot.
7.  Use a pair of wire cutters and trim off the metal tabs on the brads and adhere to the center of the pinwheels with another glue dot.

I love how this firecracker came out.  So much fun.  I just love the projects that I can do with my Silhouette and this paper line from BoBunny is just gorgeous and the embellishments so much fun.

We want you to join us for a week of techniques from the Design Team at The Hens' Den.  Each Design Team member will be showing you how they made something and in the process give you a look at different ways of documenting such a wonderful day in the lives of Americans.
