Enjoy Today House of Cards Photo/Color Inspiration

Pretty, country, chic. Love it.

Here is my card for the fifth week challenge at House of Cards.  I absolutely love this photo and wish I had that kitchen nook.  Love the colors.  It made me think of Hydrangeas.  I used Jamie Cripps Hydrangea cut file which you can find in the Silhouette Store.  I also won some wonderful stamps from Scrappy Mom's and used that for the sentiment.  Be sure to have fun playing along with this awesome challenge at House of Cards.

You Make Me So Happy

I have been wanting to scrap this photo for such a long time and fell in love with the most recent Creative Scrappers sketch.  It was so much fun to combine Crate Paper Oh Darling with October Afternoon's Girl Talk and Daily Flash.  I used some brand spankin' new Doodlebug washi tape, Chickaniddy enamel hearts and Queen & Co. Flair.  Love how it all works together.  Hope you have a chance to play along with this sketch.

Big Congrats and Silhouette Letter Placement Tutorial

 Hi Everyone:

Happy Sunday.  I decided to play around with my Silhouette Cameo today to make some flour sack towels for a friend's daughter who recently got married and is expecting a baby.  This is not someone I know personally so I am extra excited to surprise her.  I used the Silhouette Brand Heat Transfer Fabric Interfacing which is so easy to use.  I manipulated the design a bunch for the monogram.  But today wanted to share how I used my Silhouette mat as a template for correct letter placement.  After I cut my letters out of fabric and gently pulled them off the impression was left in my mat of the sentiment.  I laid my mat on top of the towel and slid my letters under the mat until they were in the correct place.  I was so happy to have found this trick for getting my letters straight.  Love this Lori Whitlock card too.  So elegant.

This above photo on the right shows the letters a little off so that you can see how I moved them into place and even though my mat is getting pretty aged I could still easily see my words which made placing the letters a snap. I made this set for two challenges, both of which are ironically Anything Goes.

Tip Toe Through the Tulips

I finally found some time for myself this week so that I could finish my entry for the Tip Toe Through the Tulips Issue at Paper Issues.  My friend Jamie Cripps has all these amazing flower and vase Silhouette files that I just had to have.  She gives easy directions to follow and they work up beautifully.  Also had such fun playing with all these bright and fun Doodlebug papers and embellishments.

Eeeek, The Twinery 2014 Design Team

 The Twinery

I am so excited to share that I made The Twinery design team for 2014.  Anyone who knows me knows how much I love working with twine and The Twinery is my favorite twine on the planet.  Can you tell I am  a little excited.  There are a fabulous group of returning designers as well as a whole bunch of newbies like me.  I can't wait to see what everyone creates as we go along.  Of course I had to make a project for my big news.  I had such fun with this Lori Whitlock shadow box.  I love mixing and matching files from the Silhouette Store and using wonderful Doodlebug new papers and sequins and some vintage buttons.  I did Irish step dancing for seven years growing up and my daughter did it for two years and these are some of her photos.  So cute.

I was inspired to create this project for the Cut It Up Challenge blog.  I have had such fun playing over there.  You should check it out.

I used the following yummy twine colors for me project and you can find all of the colors in the store:
Honeydew Solid and Stripe
Peapod Solid and Stripe
Midnight Solid
Denim Solid
Lilac Solid
Marigold Solid
Mandarin Solid
Maraschino Solid

Here is the list of my fellow The Twinery DT members:
