CASE-ing Christmas

DaenY's original card

Here is my CASE-ed card.
Hello, friends!  Welcome to CASE-ing Christmas!  We are a weekly challenge devoted to the holiday season--year round! ;)  How does this challenge work?  It's easy!  We give you a card to CASE and you CASE it!

If you've never CASEd a card, here's what you need to do:

  • Look at the CASE card photo.
    1. Be inspired by some element of the card.  This could be colors, layout, image, etc.
    2. Make a card based on that inspiration.
See!  Easy peasy!  We cannot wait to see what you have for us this week and each week this year! Are you ready for the next CASE card?!

    One Sketch, Four Cards

This card sketch came from the January 2015 Card Maps can be found at www.pagemaps.com and was a great starting point for my cards.  I always need birthday cards and thought it would be great to make a set of four to have on hand for those months when so many of my family and friends have birthdays.

I chose to use a wonderful new line from Doodlebug called Hello Sunshine to make some bright and happy cards.

The stamp set that I used is from Fiskars called Cupcakes and More and lent itself well to being used on four different cards.  One tip that I love to do is to use one long sentiment and break it up to suit the purpose of my project.

I used the acrylic sheet that comes over the top of the stamps when stamping the sentiment.  I laid it over the part that I didn't want ink on and then inked what I wanted to.  It's so clean and easy, you simply lift away the acrylic sheet and wipe it off to clean and use again.  This trick gives you many more options for using your sentiment stamps.

    Project Materials:
    Doodlebug Hello Sunshine
    Doodlebug Cardstock
    Doodlebug Sequins
Fiskars Cupcakes and More Stamp Set 01-005518
    Stampin' Up Cardstock
    Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
My Favorite Things Bubblegum, Sour Apple, Blue Raspberry and Razzle Berry Ink
Copic Markers RV I3 Tender Pink, Y08 Acid Yellow, YG13 Chartreuse, R63 Rose Mist
Have a great day and I'll be back soon.

    Sharing some Valentine Love

Anita here writing to share some February Valentine love with all of you.  I used a pattern from Shabby Fabrics as a jumping off point for this wonderful banner.  I used my light pad to trace the hearts and used fusible web to adhere them.  The scalloped heart is made from 1010% wool felt and is very thick.  I had to iron on the reverse side to avoid the felt from scorching.  I made the holes with a standard whole punch.  I love the patchwork pattern on the hearts, worked perfectly with the jelly roll that I had of Valentine fabrics from Moda.

Hope you have a great day and I'll be back soon.

    Love This

I just bought some wonderful new goodies in the Paper Issues store and was so excited to create this layout to go along with the current challenge The Perfect Pairing.  I love this photo of my kids and I which were part of Colleen's high school senior photos.

I used absolutely gorgeous papers from Dear Lizzy called Serendipity by American Crafts.  I would pop over to the Paper Issues store and pick some up before it's all gone.  The embellishments to match this collection are just as sweet.  I puffy heart love the puffy stickers and pleather bows, just sayin.
