Fun and Games Checker Board Ewe-N-Me DT

I am so excited to share my first design team post for Ewe-N-Me Printables.  I love these printables and they are so easy to use and print up gorgeously in your printer.  I love salt box homes and thought this would be a really fun set to make.  I bought a plain wooden tray from Joann's and painted it with Martha Stewart's Chipotle color paint.  It matched the red salt box homes perfectly.  I printed out both image sheets on cardstock and then adhered black cardstock to the tray with Modge Podge.  Once that was dry I adhered the game board over the cardstock and Modge Podged the whole tray and board piece.
I wanted to make the game pieces fit on the green squares like a real checkers board so used a round die to cut out the houses.  I inked half of the houses red and half black on the edge to denote the different players pieces.  I used red and black cardstock to punch matching circles to back the game pieces and popped them up so you can move them around easily.
Lastly, I printed Fun and Games with my Silhouette and put it on the outer long edge and tied some twine around the handle.  You can shop for these items in the Ewe-N-Me store and also with the links below.

You Had Me at Chocolate Stamping on Twine

I love this phrase, it just makes me giggle.  Have you ever tried stamping on twine?  It is really easy to do and gives such a fun and different look.  I took a piece of cream cardstock and put adhesive on the whole piece.  I used dry adhesive as I have found the wet adhesive to be too messy for this task.  I layered row by row until I had enough for the size that I wanted.  I tend to leave the tails long until I am done and then trim them up to the size I desire.  I used My Favorite Things Chocolate Sentiments Stamp Set and Inked it with My Favorite Things Hot Fudge ink pad.  I made sure the ink was juicy on the stamp and on a hard surface I stamped the sentiment.  If you find that some of your ink did not fill in perfectly, you can take a small paint brush and rub the tip in the ink and touch up the image.  I embossed the sweet tag and finished off my card with a heart embossed piece of card stock, some more twine, of course and some candy dots.  I love all of my The Twinery colors, but have to say that I find the Natural very versatile.  Hop over to the store to pick some up and get some other gorgeous colors while you are there.  I'm off to have a piece of chocolate.  Have a great day.

Cuddles

Created this layout of Sean and Vanessa's visit to meet her newest cousin, Corbin.  They are going to make great parents some day and seeing Sean hold this baby so lovingly makes me melt and look forward to the day when they have their own baby.  I used the Doodlebug Essentials Hip Hip Hooray kit for this layout.  I was challenged to use products using the word labor.

We are so excited  here at The Twinery to be joining up with Ruby Rock-It for a wonderful 3-day blog hop! Each day, designers from both design teams will inspire you with projects created using our fabulous baker’s twine and a variety of products from Ruby Rock-It.
If you love retro and vintage styling you’ll love Ruby Rock-It. Old fashioned imagery blended with up-to-the-minute colour palettes capture the essence of what this brand is all about. Inspired by fashion, all lines are created with the traditional scrapbooking vibe in mind. We live by the motto Scrapping is love made visible – scrap a little love today with Ruby Rock-It.
You should have come to my blog via Tobi Crawford - http://tobicrawford.blogspot.ca/.  If you didn't you can start at the beginning of the hop at The Twinery - http://thetwinery.com/blog.

I was inspired by Ruby Rock-It's Oriental Chic line to create this Asian inspired fan for my sweetie. I cut the fan twice on my Silhouette and then popped up the butterfly and the top layer.  I used some Solid Midnight Blue and Blue Shimmer twine from The Twinery to weave through the bottom of the fan and tie a fun double bow.

Happy Fall Y'All

fall
I had so much fun creating this Fall banner to decorate my home for this colorful season.  I used glue to adhere the twine across my acorns and then trimmed them up with my good sewing scissors.  I used Capuccino and Flax twine for this fun project.  The colors are perfect for fall.  Be sure to check out The Twinery store to buy your twine for all your decorating and crafting needs.
