Design Team News

Well, it has been a busy week for me filled with much wonderful news. It's been like getting my Christmas presents early. I found out earlier this week that I will be designing for Apron Strings Designs as a Card Sous Chef starting in January for the coming year. I also found out that I will be Designing for Right at Home Scrapbooking which is about my favorite place in the whole world. It is my local scrapbook store in North Attleboro, MA.

Today I received my January copy of Making Cards magazine and I have a card in there. It is so exciting to see my card in there. Can't wait to show the family next week.

Laura's Sketch 9

So the good news is that this card has been accepted by Making Cards Magazine for publication, and the bad news is that you will now have to wait to see it. I sent it off yesterday because I was happy with how it came out and was so pleased to receive an email this morning stating that it had been accepted for publication. I gave credit to 2 sketches for the sketch and Timeless Pper Arts and will let you know when it is published.

It was fun to make this card. I ended up using a transparency as I was inspired by the sample cards. Thanks for looking. You can check out this awesome sketch at http://www.2sketches4you.blogspot.com/ I took a couple of different views so that you could see that I dry embossed the transparency and that I used rub-ons on the inside.
The Felt Fusion from Queen & Company came from http://www.timelesspaperarts.com/, be sure to check them out.

Kazan's Sketch 8

I was inspired to make a fall card after seeing both Kazan's sketch and the blog banner seasonal change. I recycled the twill that I used for the bow. I used glossy paper and my spectrum pad and brayer to make the background paper for the leaves. I then embossed in copper the leaves on the paper. It looks shimmery and rich in real life. Thanks for looking. http://www.2sketches4you.blogspot.com/

Here is my take on Laura's sketch 5 from http://www.2sketches4your.blogspot.com/. It is called What's Up Cupcake.

Prom 2008

I made this layout yesterday for a challenge on http://www.makingmemoriesforyou.org/. We had to use 5 of 7 different items on our layouts. I used paint, a metal photo turn, brads, ribbon and black duct tape to punch out my hearts. They are hard to punch through and I started with stars but found that a rounded edge works better, hence he hearts.
