Mom

Simple Stories 24 Seven Mom Layout

Some photos just seem to grab you and you just know that you need to do something with them.  This is a dear friend of mine with her mother at a recent girls weekend on Cape Cod which they do every year.  I have had so much fun creating with this Simple Stories 24 Seven line and this is my third project this month.  If you haven't purchased it yet, you need to hop on over to The Hens' Den and get yours before it is gone.

There are so many amazing elements in this set and the gorgeous colors and quality that you expect from Simple Stories.  This photo just makes me so happy as you can plainly see the love Anne has for her dear mother.

Beauty

I had such fun scrapping this adorable picture of my daughter.  She was in a Pretty Little Princess Pageant, only once because she really wanted to and actually it was lovely.  She had these photos taken to submit for entry and made a kissy face with her beautiful eyes closed.  I entered this in the Paper Secrets Sketch challenge with a twist, which was to use lots of bling.

It's All About Dad

Dad King of CastleHappy Memorial Day everyone.  Can you believe that it is almost June and that we are on our way to summer.  So thankful to have a lovely day after all this rain.  Lisa gave me such fun papers to play with this month, Chap by American Crafts.  They are just perfect for Father's Day and also for masculine cards.  I love this stamp set from Unity Stamp Company called What Matters Most and the houses were perfect for this title.   Right at Home also has lots of these Teresa Collins Enamel Dots which are very trendy right now.  They are a lot of fun to play with.  I am loving my Silhouette for titles on my cards, there is so much that you can do with this wonderful die cut machine.
Dad box side oneSpeaking of my Silhouette I made this adorable box using the American Crafts Chap line and it will be perfect to put some treats in for my hubby.  I bought the file from the Silhouette store and the assembly was a snap.

Joy

It's hard to believe how quickly my Guest DT spot at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown went by.  I have loved every second of it.  I so appreciate all the wonderful comments left for me as well.  This week's challenge is an embellishment one and we were to use twine on our card.  Here is my card for this challenge.  You can play along here.

Forever Friends

This is a layout that is probably one of my favorite.  It includes flowers and leaves which are made from dies out of fabric and cork and felt.  I also die cut the scalloped circle on my electronic die cutting machine.  I have been having such fun linking up and shopping, no surprise there, at Paper Issues.  You should check out Cassie's site and store.

Oh Baby!!

I just adore this Simple Stories 24/Seven line.  The Sn@p pages are just so much fun to work with and so easy to work into an album.  You should definitely check them out in the Hens' Den Store and get some before they are gone.  I missed my darling daughter while she was away at Georgia Institute of  Technology studying engineering for her freshman year.  One reason that I love scrapbooking is that I am able to live through these wonderful times with her growing up as I created each page.
She was so sweet and so adorable growing up and as my children have gotten older I have wished that I had held onto those sweet times a little more closely.  These are some of my favorite photos which are now all in a lovely book that I can flip through when I am missing her.
Now I will have to make one for Sean, may be for my next project, lol.

Hello

This card just makes me giggle.  I love The Cat's Pajamas Mustaches die set and it works perfectly with this awesome line by American Crafts called Chap.  It is perfect for projects for the men in your life.  Remember Father's Day is coming next month.  I used some stickers on my card that match this line very well by Fancy Pants called Off to School.  I love when you can mix and match lines and have them work together beautifully.
I used a technique from the book from Card Maker Presents called A to Z Embellishments for Cards.  I used an embossing folder and ink to create a faux letterpress appearance on the central part of my card.  I applied ink to the side of the embossing folder where the impression is indented covering it completely.  I used Memento's Catnaloupe ink some cream cardstock.  You can see the sample card on page 65 of the book which Lisa has in the store.  It is filled with wonderful embellishments.

Be back towards the end of the month with another post with this gorgeous line.
