July 20th Queen Kat Designs Color Challenge, Red, White and Blue

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I hope that you are enjoying your summer.  This week's challenge at Queen Kat Designs it to use the colors red, white and blue on a card or project of your choice.  I used the nesting template to make a fancy edge on my card.  These are so fun and easy to use.  I also used the Sympathy Sayings stamp set and another one of those wonderful Happy Stixx.  These are so appropriately named as they make me so happy.  You should have come to my blog from Alex's if you are following along with the hop and should next be going to the amazing Meredith's blog.  If you didn't come here in that way, you should definitely go back to the Queen Kat Designs blog so that you don't miss anything.  Be sure to check out the nested templates and the Happy Stixx in the store, before I order them all.  Hugs, Anita

Use Your Stash and Inspirational Challenges Power Week


Last month we had a Power Week Challenge and so you know the drill if I tell you that LCOM Card Team brings you another Power Week. We've got not just one, but two challenges for you. You've got the power to choose to do one, two, or a combination. The first challenge is Use Your Stash. Rusha challenged us to use our stash and it has to be older than 2 months...WOW...I'm sure you will find this way difficult....NOT!!!:) The second challenge is an Inspirational Challenge. Dani challenged us to use a household object as your inspiration-the design on a Kleenex box or the colors of a blanket-you name it. You must include a photo of your inspirational piece. So....here's what we did with the challenges! Hope you are inspired and will feel the POWER!!!

7/13/10 Queen Kat Designs Week 2 Sketch Challenge

Hey Everyone:

I think we sometimes get into a pattern of making cards in a certain style - it can be quite easy to make cards for other women. Sometimes it's tough to change our thinking and make a card for a kid when the occasion arises. So of course - that's this week's challenge! Let's see some cards for kids. 7/6/10 Queen Kat Designs Tuesday Blog Hop Sketch Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I hope that your fourth of July was amazing.  Guess what?  All of the DT from Queen Kat Designs will now be hopping together on Tuesday's.  Isn't that cool?  I am so excited.  This week's challenge was to work from a sketch.  I used Vicki's new wonderful nested templates to trace and cut out the pattern for the white background paper.  They are so easy and fun to work with and the price is awesome.  Be sure to check out the store.  You should have hopped to me via the wonderful Alex's blog and should next be hopping to my dear friend Meredith's awesome blog.  If you did not come here in that way, make sure that you go to the Queen Kat Designs blog and start the hop there.  You won't want to miss us all together again.  I also used the French Floral background stamp which I embossed with black glitter embossing powder.

6/29/10 Queen Kat Designs Tueday Blog Hop

Hi:

Our challenge this week was to make a 3D item. I chose to make a gift box, using a Coluzzle template that I have had forever. Felt great to finally use it. I used Vicki's stamp set called Buddy Monster. I have gone back to this set many times over the last 8 months or so. You should have come here via the awesome Meredith's blog and should next be going to the wonderful Bronwyn's blog.
