Sewing and Quilting Fun

Here are some projects that are completed and some that are before quilting is done.  I like to take before and after pictures.  I love sewing and quilting and love playing with fabric as much as I love playing with paper.

Doodlebug Christmas fabric towels embellished with Doodlebug sequins and buttons.

These are for my quilting guild which I am donating for the Christmas craft fair to help defray the cost of the quilts we make for inpatients at local hospitals.

I can's show some of the other projects I have completed because they are super secret Christmas presents.  Be back soon with some more sewing fun.

Doodlebug Candy Halloween Purse

There is a really sweet woman who works at the quilt store that I frequent and she is my daughter's age and very good to me.  Always smiling and happy to see everyone.  She loves Halloween so I made this Doodlebug inspired purse for her.  I had such fun creating it and filling it with goodies for her.  I used a lot of papers from the Ghouls and Goodies line.  I am submitting this for the Paper Issues current Halloween challenge

.

It's Pumpkin Time

Paper Issues and SRM Stickers are teaming up for a challenge Witchin' You a Happy Halloween.  Both sites are having challenges for Halloween projects and I made something using a fun set called Monthly Memories for October from SRM.  You can play along with Paper Issues challenge here and the SRM challenge here.  You should play along with both as both sites are awesome with amazingly talented ladies.  I made a pumpkin with my Silhouette and then made a cute tag using SRM stickers on the tag.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Fall is Here Treat Box

It's fall here in New England and what better time than now to create a little treat box filled with chocolate and popcorn.  Perfect for a movie night snuggled on the couch.  I printed the candy bar label on glossy paper to give it a lovely look.  The image printed up so perfectly and the label looks so cute on the box.  It pulls the whole project together.

Popcorn Wrapper - Fall Is Here
I used my Silhouette Cameo to die cut the box, the pumpkin and the leaves to make a holder for my goodies.  I was trying to come up with something that looked like the boxes that kids get their popcorn, snack and drink in at the movies.  The popcorn is actually a caramel one which also fits nicely with the season.

I am really enjoying playing with the Ewe-N-Me Printables and really hope that you have a moment to check out the store.  There are so many ways to use them and I know you will love them.

House of Cards Punch or Die Challenge

Here is my DT card for this month's challenge at House of Cards.  My son and his fiance are getting married on 10/10/15 so in honor of it being a year until the big day I made her this wedding bouquet card using my Silhouette.  So many lovely die cut flowers.  I am so excited for the wedding and it was fun to start the countdown to the day in this way.
Be sure to check out House of Cards challenge blog this month to play along.

Haunted House Doodlebug

I had a lot of fun playing with Doodlebug's Ghouls & Goodies line as well as some older Doodlepops, stickers and a vintage button.  This cut file is from Samantha Walker and is so easy to put together.

Fun and Games Checker Board Ewe-N-Me DT

I am so excited to share my first design team post for Ewe-N-Me Printables.  I love these printables and they are so easy to use and print up gorgeously in your printer.  I love salt box homes and thought this would be a really fun set to make.  I bought a plain wooden tray from Joann's and painted it with Martha Stewart's Chipotle color paint.  It matched the red salt box homes perfectly.  I printed out both image sheets on cardstock and then adhered black cardstock to the tray with Modge Podge.  Once that was dry I adhered the game board over the cardstock and Modge Podged the whole tray and board piece.
I wanted to make the game pieces fit on the green squares like a real checkers board so used a round die to cut out the houses.  I inked half of the houses red and half black on the edge to denote the different players pieces.  I used red and black cardstock to punch matching circles to back the game pieces and popped them up so you can move them around easily.
Lastly, I printed Fun and Games with my Silhouette and put it on the outer long edge and tied some twine around the handle.  You can shop for these items in the Ewe-N-Me store and also with the links below.

You Had Me at Chocolate Stamping on Twine

I love this phrase, it just makes me giggle.  Have you ever tried stamping on twine?  It is really easy to do and gives such a fun and different look.  I took a piece of cream cardstock and put adhesive on the whole piece.  I used dry adhesive as I have found the wet adhesive to be too messy for this task.  I layered row by row until I had enough for the size that I wanted.  I tend to leave the tails long until I am done and then trim them up to the size I desire.  I used My Favorite Things Chocolate Sentiments Stamp Set and Inked it with My Favorite Things Hot Fudge ink pad.  I made sure the ink was juicy on the stamp and on a hard surface I stamped the sentiment.  If you find that some of your ink did not fill in perfectly, you can take a small paint brush and rub the tip in the ink and touch up the image.  I embossed the sweet tag and finished off my card with a heart embossed piece of card stock, some more twine, of course and some candy dots.  I love all of my The Twinery colors, but have to say that I find the Natural very versatile.  Hop over to the store to pick some up and get some other gorgeous colors while you are there.  I'm off to have a piece of chocolate.  Have a great day.
