Showering you with Love

Welcome to my Outside the Box blog post for the CardMaker Magazine Blog DT.  We were tasked with picking a card from an older issue of CardMaker and recreating it with newer products.  I chose a card called Showering you with Love by Aixa Mercado that was in the Spring 2013 issue of CardMaker Magazine.  She made a lovely baby card and I used mine for a bridal shower for my daughter-in-law to be.

I bought a Silhouette cut file called Here Comes The Bride and it had the heart and rings as part of the file.  I resized them until they were the perfect size for me.

I added a little extra bling with a few sequins which are so trendy right now.  How often do you go through your old magazines and think about recreating a card?  I'm going to be doing it more often as it was so easy and fun.

I just bought some wonderful new goodies in the Paper Issues store and was so excited to create this layout to go along with the current challenge The Perfect Pairing.  I love this photo of my kids and I which were part of Colleen's high school senior photos.

I used absolutely gorgeous papers from Dear Lizzy called Serendipity by American Crafts.  I would pop over to the Paper Issues store and pick some up before it's all gone.  The embellishments to match this collection are just as sweet.  I puffy heart love the puffy stickers and pleather bows, just sayin.

You Make Me So Happy

I have been wanting to scrap this photo for such a long time and fell in love with the most recent Creative Scrappers sketch.  It was so much fun to combine Crate Paper Oh Darling with October Afternoon's Girl Talk and Daily Flash.  I used some brand spankin' new Doodlebug washi tape, Chickaniddy enamel hearts and Queen & Co. Flair.  Love how it all works together.  Hope you have a chance to play along with this sketch.
