Home Sweet Home Card Tip

Hey There Fellow Card Makers:
Anita here to share with you a new twist on and old technique.  I am sharing with how I made the background for my card using baby wipes and various mists.
This is a photo of the mists that I used.  I chose my patterned paper and then matched that to my mists.  This technique has always called for reinkers, but I don't have any of those any more.  I never used them so I got rid of them, but I do have plenty of mists.
I used a plastic coated craft mat to spray the four mist colors on.  You could use wax paper if you don't have a craft mat.
I then took a baby wipe that I made extra wet and dabbed it into the four colors, trying to spread them out.
I used white cardstock and made lines for my card with my wipe.  You can go back and touch it up if you miss any spots or need to add any colors.  You can make any design that you want with the wipe.  This gave me a perfectly matching background for my card.
The lines match the design on my flair, which was what I intended.  Hope that you have a chance to try this out for yourself.

Hello Friend CardMaker Magazine and Sakura Blog Hop

Hello Everyone:
Happy Monday.  We are starting off this week with a really fun blog hop with my fellow DT members from CardMaker Magazine Blog and Sakura.  We were lucky enough to receive some wonderful products from Sakura which I used on the card above.

I used a Memory Box Die called Verona Bouquet which was perfect for outlining with the Sakura Gelly Roll Classic White Pen.  This pen is so smooth when you work with it and dries very quickly so you don't have to worry about smudging it.

The Quickie Glue Pen is one of my favorites and is perfect for gluing down delicate pieces of paper.  I always have a stash of them on hand for these types of projects.  If you didn't come to my blog as part of the hop you are going to want to go to the CardMaker Magazine blog and start hopping there.  You should have come to my blog from the very talented Lisa Lahiff's blog and next you will be going to the amazing AJ Otto's blog.  I have also included the whole hop list below for ease of hopping.

One Sketch, Four Cards

This card sketch came from the January 2015 Card Maps can be found at www.pagemaps.com and was a great starting point for my cards.  I always need birthday cards and thought it would be great to make a set of four to have on hand for those months when so many of my family and friends have birthdays.

I chose to use a wonderful new line from Doodlebug called Hello Sunshine to make some bright and happy cards.

The stamp set that I used is from Fiskars called Cupcakes and More and lent itself well to being used on four different cards.  One tip that I love to do is to use one long sentiment and break it up to suit the purpose of my project.

I used the acrylic sheet that comes over the top of the stamps when stamping the sentiment.  I laid it over the part that I didn't want ink on and then inked what I wanted to.  It's so clean and easy, you simply lift away the acrylic sheet and wipe it off to clean and use again.  This trick gives you many more options for using your sentiment stamps.
