St. Patrick's Day Pop Up Box Card Jar Shaker Tutorial

Anita here with a tutorial to make Lori's lovely cut file for the Pop Up Box Card St. Patrick's Jar into a shaker card.  You can find this file here in her shop and here in the Silhouette store.

Here is a photo of the parts of the card after I cut them out.  I cut a piece of overhead projector plastic the same size as the jar.  I also used the rectangle shape tool to cut out the center of my green plaid jar top piece for the window.  I also cut a jar out of black and trimmed it even with the top of the band so that you could see the details in the jar cover.
Those are shown glued down in this photo.

Next, I took the jar outline piece and used foam tape to create both height and space for the shaker materials as you can see from the photo below.

I then started to assemble the card which is very easy to put together.  I tend to use a wet adhesive as at first it is forgiving and you can move the pieces around a bit and then it holds better than regular adhesive.  I lined up the pieces and then closed the card to make sure everything was where I wanted it.  Here are some photos of the card with the pieces ready to be adhered onto the card and with all the pieces on it.  I filled my shaker with extra shamrocks from the cut file and some sequins.  I love how festive it is.

Lastly here is a photo of the card when it is closed.  Lori has many wonderful St. Patrick's Day files which you can whip up quickly to brighten someone's day.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.
Hugs,
Anita

Lori Whitlock March blog hop

Happy almost St. Patrick's Day everyone.  Next to Christmas and Valentine's Day with a last name of Mulcahey you can imagine how much I love this holiday.  I made this tin for my daughter to give to her boyfriend for the holiday.  I used the cut file called Lucky Me I Have You  which you can find here in Lori's Store and it is bundled with a Kiss Me I'm Irish cut file and here in the Silhouette Store and 5 Clover Shamrocks (2) which you can also find in Lori's store and here in the Silhouette Store.  I love all the fun tins that you can get at the Target Dollar spot.  So much fun to decorate with Lori's amazing cut files.
Welcome to our March blog hop.  You should have come here from Courtney Lee's blog and you will next be going to
Ashley Cook's blog.  You can start at the beginning at Lori's blog.

St. Patrick's Day

Hi Everyone:
Anita here with a card that I just fell in love with.  These pop up box cards of Lori's are so cute and so easy to put together.  You can find this file called Pop Up Box Card St. Patrick's Truck here in Lori's store and here in the Silhouette Store.  I made this for my son and daughter-in-law as he has and loves his truck.  I used several of Lori's Echo Park Collections to complete my card.  I used Happiness is Homemade, Celebrate Easter, I Love Winter, Celebrate Spring and some cloud stickers from the Celebrate Spring collection and those adorable enamel dots from Celebrate Easter.
This is how the card looks half way open.  The dimension is so cool on these cards.
Here it is complexly flat.  Also, Lori has a wonderful, quick video tutorial on how to put these cards together on her blog.  Hope you have a great St. Patrick's Day and be sure to check out all the fun cut files Lori has to celebrate the wearin' O the Green.
Hugs,
Anita

Celebrate & Decorate CardMaker Magazine post

The theme for this post for CardMaker Magazine's blog is Celebrate and Decorate.  What better event to celebrate than St. Patrick's Day.  I am Irish and did Irish step dancing when I was growing up and love this holiday.  It also helps to know that spring is just around the corner.  I used Silhouette cut files to make all the parts for my celebration purse.
The purse is a Samantha Walker cut file and I have made several of these in the past.  She has so many different purse styles in the Silhouette store.  I used Doodlebug's Happy Go Lucky new line.  I was thrilled to see that they had come out with a St. Patrick's Day line.
Here is a close up of the tag on the purse.  I popped up the top layer and used both twine and ribbon to secure it to the purse.
Isn't this pinwheel so cute.  It makes me think of spring and so happy to look at it.  I have a stash of these paper straws and this was a perfect project to use one on.
There are so many different patterns in the Silhouette store for this holiday.  I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette to make this pillow box and then filled it with candy kisses with the adorable clover kisses cut and print file.
Lastly, how fun are these.  They are St. Patrick's Day Candy Bar Wrappers and us the print and cut feature on the Silhouette as well.
To use the print and cut function, your file must be a print and cut one.  Open the file on your Silhouette and click on the button which is highlighted on the top icon panel which is the 4th button from the right and says Registration Marks.  Click on the Type of Silhouette that you have and the marks that are on the screen shot will appear above.  Resize your paper to 8 1/2 X 11 and then click the print icon on the icon panel.  Once it is printed, line it up carefully on your mat and press cut.  Your Silhouette will scan the registration marks first prior to cutting.
