Library Pocket Card and Matching Gift Box

Hello Everyone:

Anita here with a fun project which Lori designed recently called Library Pocket Card Sailboat.  You can find the file here in her store and here in the Silhouette Design store.  I also made the matching Gift Box Sailboat which you can find here in Lori's store and here in the Silhouette Design store.  I used some of Lori's Echo Park Paper collections for this project including All Boy, My Favorite Christmas and I Love Summer.  I used the print and cut feature for the library card itself.  I'm sure my nephew will love his box which I will also put some treats into for him.

This is a photo of the gift box by itself.

Here is a photo of the gift box with the card inside.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Bible Study Journal Tutorial

Hi Everyone:
Anita here with a bible study journal that I made for my father.  He has not been able to go to bible study for various reasons over the last several months and is eager to get started back.  I made him this journal so that he could take it with him to make notes.  I used the SVG cut file from Lori's shop that is called Pray Hardest and you can find that file here in Lori's store and here in the Silhouette Design store.  I also used the file called 3 Christian crosses which you can also find here in Lori's store and here in the Silhouette Design store.  I also used one of Lori's newest Echo Park paper collections called All Boy.
Here is a photo of the materials that I used for making this journal.
I measured the journal cover and it measured 7.5" X 9.75" so I cut my front and back cardstock to that size.  I decided that I wanted the spine cover to be 2" wide so I cut that by the 9.75" length as well.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to create this project and did resize it once I measured the size that I would have available to decorate on the front of the journal.  I resized it to 8.250" X 6.767".   I used a wet adhesive on the covers because then I would be able to move the paper around until it was perfect.  I then opened the journal and trimmed with small scissors around the rounded edges of the covers.

For the pen I took the end of the pen off and took out the ink shaft.  I then measured the length that would be able to be seen when the  pen was together.  I cut my paper 1" X 3" and rolled it around a paint brush handle.  You basically just need to get it started rolling in a circle.  I then slid it into the pen shaft, put the ball point ink shaft back into the pen and screwed back on the end cap and my pen was done.  I used 2/5" diameter adhesive dots to adhere the pen to the spine of the journal.
I hope that it brings a smile to his face when he sees his new bible study journal.

June Lori Whitlock Blog Hop

Hi Everyone:

Welcome to the June Lori Whitlock Blog Hop.  I just became a grandmother for the first time and we were with our son and daughter-in-law in Ohio when they went in for his birth and when they came home.  Given how many things from her pregnancy were different than what we hoped given Covid 19, I wanted them to come home to a wonderful celebration of sweet Henry's birth.  I repurposed some cardboard for the main sign and made all of the smaller signs as well and brought them with me from MA to Ohio to decorate their home for the baby's arrival.
You should have come here from Kathy Skou's blog and will next be going to Brandie Harding Adams' blog.  If you didn't get here in that way then you can start at the beginning at Lori's blog.  I used the following Lori Whitlock files which you can find the links for below:
Baby Boy Onesie Card Kit in Lori's store and in the Silhouette Design store
Lori Whitlock Font called Thick in Lori's store and in the Silhouette Design store
I used a bunch of fun Petite Prints from Doodlebug as well as some of their solid cardstock for my signs.  I also used some Doodlebug Puppy Love Odds and Ends to embellish the signs.

Thanks for looking and happy hopping.

Pop Out Card Heart 35th Wedding Anniversary Card

Hi Everyone:

It's my 35th wedding anniversary today and I made this card for my wonderful husband to celebrate our love.  We had a wonderful European cruise planned to celebrate but given these uncertain times we had to cancel.  We are looking forward to trying again in 2021.  In the meantime, we plan a quiet celebration.  I have no idea where the time has gone though.  I used Lori's Pop Out Card Heart which you can find here in her store and here in the Silhouette Design store.  I also used Whole Heart Whole Life which you can find here in Lori's store and here in the Silhouette Design store for my sentiment.  I used Lori's new Echo Park Paper line called All Boy to create the card.  This card folds flat and fits nicely into an A2 envelope.

I took the Whole Heart Whole Life sentiment and shrunk it to fit in the center of my heart.  I then grouped that together and used it as a print and cut sentiment with the registration marks turned on in my Silhouette Cameo.  When I went to cut the heart out after it was printed, I ungrouped it and moved the sentiment off the mat.  I cut out the heart and it came out perfect.

My husband really appreciates home made cards and in this time where it is harder to get out to buy what we want, don't forget that Lori has cards and gift giving items for every occasion in her store.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.
